Yeah. It all depends on if we get GW 2.0, with new and revamped skills and somewhat changed mechanics OR something really new.

Their ideas with more open instances and so on make me even wonder if we retain the 8 skills bar or not. What they were babbling in the early interviews sounded like a totally new kind of game to me.

It says it on the faq on the main site http://www.guildwars.com/products/guildwars2/gw2faq/

"We're applying this same philosophy to competitive play. Players will be able to engage in organized, balanced PvP (similar to GvG in the original Guild Wars) without needing to first level up characters, find equipment, or unlock skills. While inside the organized PvP area, all characters will be the same power level and will have access to the same equipment."

I'm curious what's going to happen with races. Presumably racial abilities (which they said will exist) will just be disabled in competitive PvP formats, but is my Charr warrior going to also appear as a human during GvG? If not, is everyone then going to have to roll Asura monks to be less visible and smaller to click on, and Norn or Charr warriors for body blocking/hiding the monks purposes?

Also, separately, I hope they stick to something like the original set of 6 classes. In particular, I don't want to see ritualists or assassins.
